Changing Your Notes Client Password
After installing Lotus Notes, it is important to change your password. Every time the password is changed, make an archive copy
of the USER.id file. This information will be important when upgrading to a new computer, or if the current computer
crashes. The USER.id file, along with the other files referenced on the Backing Up Lotus Notes page, will be used
to restore the Lotus Notes account.
To change the password for your Notes Full Client, select File, Security, User Security. Enter the current Notes password and click
OK. Click the Change Password button under Your Login and Password Settings and again enter your current Lotus
Notes password and then click OK. Enter your new password in both boxes of the change password screen and click OK.
The new password is set and stored.
Changing Your Notes Internet Password
The Internet Password is used to access Lotus Notes e-mail from the web. To change the Internet Password, open the Lotus Notes
full client. Choose File, Database, Open. (In Lotus Notes 8, choose File, Open, Lotus Notes Application.) Choose your email server from the drop-down list in the Server box.

Select University of Nebraska's Address Book from the Database list and click to open it. (The filename will be names.nsf).
Then, locate your name in the list. This can be done by typing the first few letters of your last name (just start typing -- it doesn't matter
where). Double-click to open your Person Document. Your Internet Password is encrypted at the bottom of the Basics tab.

Click the Enter Password button. Enter the new Internet Password and click OK. The password will apeear encrypted the next time the
document is viewed. Select Save and Close once the new password is entered.
