Scheduled Maintenance

The Notes01, Notes02, and Notes03 servers will be rebooted on a weekly basis on Sunday mornings between 8am and noon. The reboot process should normally take around 15 minutes. Full client users should not notice any problems while web users should log back in to continue working.

Lotus Notes Cluster

The Unlnotes01, Unlnotes02 and Unlnotes03 servers are now in a cluster.

What does this mean to you?
If you are using a Lotus Notes 6x client your mail file should automatically switch over to the fail over server in the event of a Lotus Notes server outage. If you Lotus Notes client does not fail over, close your client and re-open it.

POP3 and IMAP
In the event of a Lotus Notes server outage, your email account will not switch over to the fail over Lotus Notes server. If you are using POP3 or IMAP, please install the Lotus Notes full client to access your mailfile or access your account via the web, by choosing the correct server in the navigation column on the left.

Attachment Restriction

There is now a 250 MB attachment limit on Lotus Notes. We found that large attachments over 250 MB were being sent through our E-mail system causing performance problems. If you feel that the limit has caused you any problems, please call the IS Computer Help Center at 472-3970.


Unlnotes01

2007.09.05 — 06:30 CDT

UNLNOTES01 experienced several outages beginning at approximately 06:30 this morning.  It appears this was due to a malfunctioning rule inside a user's mailfile.  Normal service was restored around 09:00.

East Campus Power Outage

2007.08.31 — 13:00 CDT
Due to a power outage on East Campus, all backside cluster servers (UNLNOTES01A, 02A, 03A, UNLArchive, etc) went down at approximately 2:00 p.m. All servers have been restarted and should be working normally. All of these servers will be going down again tonight at 7:00 p.m. so that the electrical system can be upgraded. The servers will be off-line for approximately 20 minutes and you should still be able to access mail.

2007.08.28 — 13:00 CDT
Unlnotes01 went offline at approximately 1:00 this afternoon.  The server has been restarted and the Notes team is currently looking into the cause of this event.

LN Server Maintenance

2007.08.19 — 06:00 CDT
All Lotus Notes servers will have maintenance performed this Sunday.  You should be able to access your e-mail.  If you are using POP, you may have to access your e-mail via http.

Unlnotes01 stopped responding at approximately 9:30 this morning.  This appears to be a Windows related crash.  Unlnotes01 was restarted and service was restored by 10:15 A.M.

Unlnotes01 went down at approximately 11:15 A.M. CDT today.  The Lotus Notes Team is in the process of determining the cause of this outage.

UNLNOTES01 went down just before 1:00 P.M. CDT today.  The Lotus Notes Team is currently identifying the cause of this outage.

Lotus Notes Security Patches 1-14-07

Security patches will be applied to all servers in the Lotus Notes environment during our normal maintenace period.
